Details

This course introduces the shooter to tactical shooting skills that may be needed in a “critical dynamic incident” when the use of deadly force is necessary. Shooters will learn how to defend themselves at different distances and positions, including sitting, walking, close quarters, and extreme close quarters. One handed down and disabled shooting will also be discussed. All shooting is done down range. This course will also teach the correct procedures required to effectively and safely draw and re-holster a handgun from a defensive mindset.

Equipment

Required:

  • A firm holster that fits your gun (covers the trigger guard) and allows the shooter to safely re-holster. (Soft collapsable holsters and “Serpa” holsters with button retention are prohibited.)
  • Ear and Eye protection
  • 150 Rounds of ammunition

Prerequisites

This is an advanced course. Shooters must have taken Essential Handgun Part 1 and 2, Private instruction, Defensive Shooting Fundamentals or have prior training/experience that is equivalent.
